Conway Man Caught: 15 Months for Illegal Re-entry
A Conway man has been sentenced to 15 months in federal prison for illegally re-entering the United States.
Rodolfo Sanchez-Marcia, 47, was sentenced in federal court in Florence, South Carolina, for violating 8 U.S.C. § 1326(a)(2).
The evidence presented at his change of plea on January 9, 2017, revealed that Sanchez-Marcia was a native and citizen of Mexico who had been deported from the United States on multiple occasions.
He was arrested on November 1, 2015, by the Surfside Police Department for driving without a license and was released, but ICE-ERO officers discovered that he had been deported multiple times in the past.
Sanchez-Marcia had never received permission to enter or remain in the United States.
United States District Judge R. Bryan Harwell of Florence handed down the sentence, while Assistant United States Attorney A. Bradley Parham of the Florence office prosecuted the case.
The case was investigated by agents of the ICE-ERO.
