Sex Trafficking Ring Brought Down in Massachusetts

A chilling tale of exploitation and greed has been brought to light with the sentencing of Cory Primo, a 43-year-old Fall River woman, who played a key role in a sex trafficking conspiracy.

Primo was yesterday sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Angel Kelley to 70 months in prison, in addition to five years of supervised release. The defendant was also ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution to the three victims in this matter, who were subjected to unimaginable suffering at the hands of Primo and her co-conspirators.

According to court documents, Primo conspired with others to traffic a Massachusetts adult woman and two minors, between April 2023 and August 2023. The defendant’s motivations were starkly revealed during her guilty plea, as she admitted to helping her co-defendant sell the victims because she was ‘broke.’

Primo’s actions were as brazen as they were heinous. She sent pictures of the victims to sex buyers, communicated with them to schedule commercial sex acts, and even negotiated prices. In a twisted display of callousness, Primo joked about her role in the conspiracy, likening it to ‘playing a game of Tetris.’

But Primo’s crimes went beyond mere exploitation; she also encouraged another co-defendant to be violent toward the victims, and expressed indifference to what they had to endure, as long as they continued to make money.

U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley and Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Civil Rights Division were among those who announced the sentencing. Valuable assistance was provided by the Somerset Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth Riley and Trial Attorney Francisco Zornosa leading the prosecution.
