Covid-19 Scam Masters Caught in NJ
In a shocking exposé of exploitation, the United States Attorney for the District Of New Jersey, Craig Carpenito, and Associate Deputy Attorney General, William Hughes, unveiled the extent of Covid-19 related fraud in the state of New Jersey during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.
The hearing, titled Covid-19 Fraud: Law Enforcement’s Response to those Exploiting the Pandemic, revealed the alarming scale of the scam, with millions of dollars stolen from vulnerable Americans.
According to sources, the scam involved individuals and organizations taking advantage of the pandemic to swindle money from unsuspecting victims, often through false claims and schemes.
Speaking before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Craig Carpenito emphasized the severity of the issue, stating, “The Covid-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for our nation, and unfortunately, it has also created opportunities for scammers and fraudsters to exploit vulnerable individuals and businesses.”
