Craig Duane Greenlee, Wire Fraud, Oklahoma 2017

Muskogee, Oklahoma – In a shocking case of deceit, Craig Duane Greenlee, a 34-year-old resident of Eufaula, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for his role in a brazen wire fraud scheme that bilked multiple victims out of over $500,000.

According to court records, Greenlee’s scheme involved falsely representing to victims that they could obtain a farm tractor and trailer, all while using wire communications to defraud them out of their hard-earned cash.

The scam, which began in 2012 and continued until April 2016, left a trail of financial devastation in its wake, with Greenlee using his cunning and charm to extract large sums of money from unsuspecting victims.

Greenlee’s actions were brought to light by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which launched a thorough investigation into the matter. The evidence collected by the FBI was presented in court, where Greenlee was found guilty of wire fraud in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1343.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing and imposed the sentence, which includes 30 months in prison and 3 years of supervised release.

Greenlee will remain out on bond until reporting to the designated Bureau of Prisons facility on May 9, 2017, at which time he will begin serving his sentence. In addition to his prison time, Greenlee has been ordered to pay a staggering $544,000 in restitution to the victims of his scheme.

Acting United States Attorney Douglas A. Horn represented the United States in the case, and the outcome serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of committing such egregious crimes.
