Cresson Man Charged with Making False Statements on Loan Applications
A Cambria County man has been charged with making false statements on loan applications, according to a federal indictment unsealed in Johnstown.
Justin M. Hickox, 28, of Cresson, Pa., was named as the sole defendant in a three-count indictment presented to the court.
According to the indictment, Hickox knowingly made false statements in applications for vehicle and personal loans from G.A.P. Federal Credit Union and Your Choice Federal Credit Union on Sept. 4, Sept. 18 and Oct. 23, 2014.
The indictment charges Hickox with one count of making false statements on a loan application, one count of making false statements on a vehicle loan application, and one count of making false statements on a personal loan application.
Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Hickox faces a maximum total sentence of 90 years in prison, a fine of $3,000,000, or both, if convicted.
