Cyberbullying on the Rise in Guam’s Youth

In a disturbing trend, cyberbullying has become a prevalent issue in Guam’s youth, with the U.S. Attorney’s Office making it a top priority. On October 26, 2015, U.S. Attorney Alicia A.G. Limtiaco spoke at the University of Guam’s (UOG) School of Education Masters Class (MAED) to raise awareness about the dangers of cyberbullying.

Limtiaco’s presentation focused on cybercrime, including child pornography, child sexual exploitation, sexting, and cyberbullying. She also shared resources and safety tips with the students to help them navigate the complex and often treacherous world of online interactions.

Cyberbullying is a serious issue that affects not only the victims but also their families and communities. The U.S. Attorney’s Office has made it a priority to educate the public, particularly young people, about the dangers of cyberbullying and the importance of online safety.

The UOG’s MAED Class invited Limtiaco to speak as part of their curriculum on education and social issues.
