BEAUMONT, Texas – The Department of Justice has delivered a stern verdict against Kenneth Claude Davenport, a 70-year-old Daisetta sex predator. Today, in the Eastern District of Texas, Davenport was sentenced to five years in federal prison for his heinous crime of child pornography possession, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced.
In a gut-wrenching plea on September 25, 2013, Davenport admitted to downloading and viewing child pornography approximately twice a week, a sinister habit that led to his downfall. On March 16, 2011, during a no-holds-barred search warrant at his Liberty County home, law enforcement seized two computers and a hard drive, uncovering 20 videos with roughly 1,500 images of prepubescent minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The court records paint a chilling picture of Davenport’s depravity. The images included violence and minors involved in sex acts with adults, an act of pure evil that left the justice system seething with anger. His plea on June 20, 2013, to child pornography violations was met with no mercy by U.S. District Judge Thad Heartfield.
