Dalco Gabriel Whiteman, Sexually Abusing Children, Wyoming 2021

A Riverton man has been sentenced to 71 years in prison for sexually abusing multiple children on the Wind River Indian Reservation over the course of 25 years.

Dalco Gabriel Whiteman, 54, was found guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse and four counts of abusive sexual contact following a trial by a jury that began on September 21, 2021.

The jury found that Whiteman was responsible for sexually abusing multiple children on the Wind River Reservation over the course of 25 years.

Six victims, several of them unknown to each other, testified that Whiteman had sexually assaulted them, some of them on numerous occasions.

Whiteman was sentenced by Chief District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on December 20, 2021.

He was ordered to pay a fine of $1,000 and a special assessment of $600, and was also sentenced to 15 years of supervised release after serving his prison term.

“Every little girl and young woman deserves a home and community where she feels safe and secure. Not a place of fear and abuse. Stopping sexual predators like Dalco Whiteman is why our team of prosecutors work tirelessly with our law enforcement partners,” said United States Attorney Bob Murray.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
