Local Man Found Guilty of Firearms Charge
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – In a recent development, Daniel Kion Garrison, a 30-year-old resident of Martinsburg, West Virginia, has admitted to a firearms charge.
Garrison pleaded guilty to one count of ‘Aiding and Abetting False Statement During Purchase of Firearm’ on an undisclosed date. According to court records, Garrison worked with another individual to illegally purchase a .380 caliber pistol from a licensed dealer in Berkeley County in May 2021.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives investigated the crime.
Garrison faces up to 10 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The case was presided over by U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble.
