Daniel Ryan Robinson, Methamphetamine and Fentanyl Dealing, North Carolina 2023

Asheville, N.C. resident Daniel Ryan Robinson, 43, has been sentenced to 151 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for dealing methamphetamine and fentanyl, announced Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

The sentence comes after Robinson pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine on October 31, 2022. Court records show that, between August 2019 and November 2019, Robinson was found to be in possession of more than 280 grams of methamphetamine and 35 grams of fentanyl.

Robinson’s residence and vehicle were also found to contain two firearms and ammunition. The 43-year-old has a previous conviction for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, dating back to 2013.

U.S. Attorney King thanked the ATF and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation of the case. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Asheville handled the prosecution.

Robinson is currently in federal custody and will be transferred to the custody of the federal Bureau of Prisons upon designation of a federal facility.

The defendant’s lengthy prison sentence serves as a reminder of the severe consequences for those involved in the illicit drug trade, putting lives at risk and contributing to the devastating impact of addiction on communities.
