Buffalo Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Darin L. Butts, Jr., 31, of Celeron, NY, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
According to U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo, investigators conducted seven controlled purchases of methamphetamine and fentanyl from Butts in July and August 2023. On August 23, 2023, search warrants were executed at Butts’ residence and his two vehicles, resulting in the seizure of approximately 610 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and $14,829.00 in cash.
On May 3, 2024, law enforcement executed another search warrant at Butts’ residence, seizing multiple quantities of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the Ellicott Police Department, and the Dunkirk Police Department.
Darin L. Butts, Jr. was convicted of possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani.
The exact date of the crime is July- August 2023.
The dollar amount seized from Butts was $14,829.00.
The sentencing occurred on May 3, 2024.
