MUSKOGEE, OK – Darrin Renay Kimble, 58, of Muskogee, has confessed to a brazen robbery that occurred on Muscogee (Creek) Nation land in February 2021. Kimble, also known as Darrin Latroy Kimble and Darrin Renay Teague, pleaded guilty to one count of Robbery in Indian Country, admitting he forcibly stole a television from a victim.
According to court documents, the incident unfolded on February 21, 2021, in Wagoner County, squarely within the boundaries of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation. Kimble didn’t just take the TV; he used “force, violence and intimidation” to snatch it from the victim’s grasp, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The investigation that led to Kimble’s conviction was a joint effort between the Coweta Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). While details of the initial investigation remain scarce, the combined resources of these agencies ultimately secured the guilty plea.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted the plea and has ordered a presentence investigation report to be prepared. This report will provide Judge Jackson with a comprehensive overview of Kimble’s background and the circumstances surrounding the robbery, aiding in the sentencing decision. Kimble remains in custody of the U.S. Marshal Service while awaiting his fate.
