Tulsa, OK – Rahmon Lawrence Macon Jr., 31, will spend the next 40 years behind bars for his role in the senseless murder of 19-year-old Aliza Crook at a gas station in November 2022.
According to court documents, Macon fired multiple shots at the car Crook was in, striking her in the head and killing her. The crime was caught on video surveillance, and multiple eyewitnesses identified Macon as the shooter.
The FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Tulsa Police Department investigated the case, which is part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative to reduce violent crime and gun violence.
“Macon was reckless and careless with his actions that led to the death of an innocent bystander, Aliza Crook,” U.S. Attorney Clint J. Johnson said in a statement. “I hope this conviction will bring some type of justice for Aliza’s loved ones who courageously spoke in court today.”
What’s even more tragic is that Aliza’s family chose to donate her organs, saving the lives of two people in the process. Macon’s actions not only ended a young life but also stole the opportunity for others to live a full life.
Macon will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, where he will serve 480 months (40 years) of imprisonment, followed by 5 years of supervised release. His history of violence and attempt to dissuade witnesses from cooperating with the FBI make him a clear danger to society.
