Darron Webb, a 29-year-old South Bend resident, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and 4 years of supervised release for his role in a heroin trafficking operation in South Bend, Indiana.

According to court documents, the investigation into Webb’s activities began in September 2014, when the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office Interdiction and Covert Enforcement Unit, the South Bend Police Department Metro Special Operations Section, the Indiana State Police, and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms launched a joint investigation into heroin trafficking in the area.

During the course of the investigation, investigators identified Webb as a key figure in the heroin trafficking operation, and in early October 2014, he was found to be in possession of 100 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of heroin.
