Keyser Man Gets 46 Months for Cocaine Charge
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – In a shocking turn of events, a Mineral County man has been sentenced to 46 months of incarceration for a drug charge.
Davaun Alonzo Ambush, 25, of Keyser, West Virginia, plead guilty to one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base in November 2020. The sinister plot unfolded in January 2020 when Ambush was found in possession of crack cocaine.
The case was prosecuted by Lara Omps-Botteicher, Assistant U.S. Attorney on behalf of the government. The West Virginia State Police and the Potomac Highlands Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated the heinous crime.
In a dramatic conclusion, Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the sentencing.
Ambush’s 46-month sentence is a harsh reminder that the law will not tolerate such behavior. This case serves as a warning to those who engage in illicit activities, and we will continue to work tirelessly to bring justice to our community.
The West Virginia community can rest a little easier knowing that justice has been served. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
