Armed Carjacking Lands St. Louis Man 18 Years in Prison
A St. Louis County man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in two separate armed carjackings committed in 2019.
David Curtis President, 29, of St. Louis County, pleaded guilty to the charges on August 24, 2021, after being identified as the suspect in two separate carjackings.
The first incident occurred on June 28, 2019, in the 11100 Block of Riaza Square, where President allegedly took a 2007 Buick Lucerne from a victim at gunpoint. He was later found to be in possession of the victim’s pistol, which was in the Lucerne at the time of the carjacking.
The second incident took place on July 29, 2019, at the Petro Mart on 698 Gravois Bluffs Boulevard, where President shot two individuals and stole their 2017 Nissan Altima.
The St. Louis County Police Department investigated the carjackings and firearms offenses, leading to President’s eventual sentencing.
United States District Court Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh, Jr. handed down the 18-year prison sentence, which will be served for the crimes of carjacking and firearms offenses.
The case serves as a reminder of the severity of armed carjackings and the consequences that come with such crimes.
