Cyberstalking Victim Suffers Extreme Emotional Distress
A 25-year-old man from Hilton, New York, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for cyberstalking an acquaintance through various social media accounts.
David Guest, 25, was convicted of cyberstalking and sentenced by U.S. District Judge David G. Larimer in Rochester, New York, on an unspecified date in 2024.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi stated that Guest began threatening and harassing the victim in 2019, posting nude photographs to various porn websites with the victim’s full name and sending nude photographs to the victim’s family members, colleagues, former classmates, and friends.
Guest also used fake online accounts to extort the victim into producing additional sexually explicit content. The victim suffered extreme emotional distress as a result of Guest’s conduct.
The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Rochester Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Acting Special Agent-in-Charge Darren Cox.
