GREEN BAY, WI – In a shocking case of exploitation, local landlord David Jones has been sued by the United States for engaging in severe, pervasive, and unwelcome sexual harassment of a female tenant at one of his rental properties in the Green Bay area.

According to the lawsuit filed on July 24, 2025, Jones, who manages multiple rental properties in the area through his company D Jones Properties LLC, subjected the tenant to unwelcome sexual comments, grabbed her without her consent, entered her home without permission, and took adverse housing-related actions against her when she asserted her rights under the Fair Housing Act.

The Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, and familial status, and the lawsuit seeks monetary damages to compensate the victim for the harm she suffered and a court order barring future discrimination.

“No one should be forced to choose between safe housing and their right to live free from sexual harassment,” said Acting United States Attorney Richard G. Frohling. “The United States is committed to vigorously enforcing fair housing protections and holding housing providers accountable when they exploit their power over tenants.”

The victim is not named in the lawsuit, but her story serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of unchecked power and the importance of protecting the rights of tenants.
