DAVID LOPEZ, a 41-year-old Billings resident, was arraigned in federal court on February 19 and pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute meth, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The investigation into Lopez\u2019s alleged activities was a joint effort by several law enforcement agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI, Eastern Montana High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, and the Billings Police Department.
Lopez is currently being held in custody and could face a minimum mandatory 10 years to life in prison, a $10 million fine, and five years of supervised release if convicted of the most serious crime. The case number is 18-128, and the indictment was unsealed on February 19.
