Ocala, Florida – David Robinson, Jr., 24, of Tampa, has been found guilty of possessing an unregistered National Firearms Act (NFA) firearm.
A jury found Robinson guilty following a trial in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 20, 2023.
According to evidence presented at trial, deputies from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office encountered Robinson in September 2022. He had in his possession a loaded short barrel rifle. The barrel length was approximately 12.5 inches long. The rifle was not registered to Robinson in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer record.
Robinson faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison for the unregistered firearms charge.
This case was investigated by the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg.

Robinson had been indicted on October 11, 2022, for the unregistered firearms charge.
