⏱ 2 min read

William Edwin Allaun IV, a 44-year-old man from the District of Columbia, has been sentenced to 60 months in federal prison for possessing child sexual abuse material. The material, which included images of the rape and torture of young children, was found in Allaun’s possession in May 2025, after he joined a group chat on an encrypted messaging application used to distribute the illicit content. Allaun pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography in December 2025.

The investigation, led by the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, uncovered multiple videos depicting the sexual abuse of prepubescent children, which Allaun had received and expressed interest in receiving more. A search of his residence in July 2025 recovered additional videos, further solidifying the case against him.

As part of his sentence, Allaun will serve 10 years of supervised release, register as a sex offender, and forfeit an iPad and iPhone seized during the investigation. He has also agreed to pay restitution to the victims. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Richard Kelley as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative.

The Project Safe Childhood initiative, launched in 2006, aims to protect children from online exploitation and abuse by marshaling federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet.
