A 26-year-old registered sex offender in DC is facing new charges for allegedly buying hundreds of videos of child sexual abuse material online.
Drew Collin Imparato spent $12,000 on the disturbing content through Telegram and other apps, according to court documents.
Imparato was previously convicted in 2019 of Interstate Travel with Intent to Engage in Illicit Sexual Conduct and Distribution of Child Pornography, earning him a five-year prison sentence.
He was released from custody and immediately sought out online forums selling child sexual abuse material, authorities say.
The FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force is investigating the case, which is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel Bohlen as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative.
