Deandre L. Davis Indicted on Cocaine Charges in West Virginia
A Wheeling man has been charged with multiple counts of cocaine distribution in a federal indictment announced by United States Attorney Bill Powell.
Deandre L. Davis, 27, of Wheeling, West Virginia, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Wheeling on drug charges. The indictment includes one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base, three counts of Distribution of Cocaine Base within 1,000 Feet of a Protected Location, and one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base within 1,000 Feet of a Protected Location.
The charges stem from Davis’s alleged activities in Ohio County in July 2017, where he is accused of possessing, distributing, and selling cocaine. If convicted, Davis faces up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000 for Count 1, and up to 40 years incarceration and a fine of up to $2,000,000 for each of the remaining counts.
Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen L. Vogrin is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Explosives and Firearms and the Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HITDA-funding initiative, are investigating.
