Terard Ansor, Heroin Distribution, West Virginia 2015

A Martinsburg man’s involvement in a heroin distribution ring has finally come to a close. Terard Ansor, 25, of Baltimore, Maryland, was sentenced to 60 months incarceration today for distributing heroin, Acting United States Attorney Betsy Steinfeld Jividen announced.

Ansor pled guilty to one count of ‘Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin’ in January 2017. He conspired with others to distribute heroin in Berkeley and Jefferson counties from August to November 2015.

The heroin distribution ring, led by Ansor, was a significant threat to the community. His actions put the lives of countless individuals at risk, and it’s a testament to the hard work of law enforcement that he’s been brought to justice.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Anna Z. Krasinski prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated.

Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the sentencing hearing, handing down the 60-month sentence to Ansor. This sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the danger it posed to the community.

The case serves as a reminder of the dangers of heroin and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat the opioid epidemic. As the nation continues to grapple with this issue, cases like Ansor’s will serve as a warning to those who would seek to profit from the suffering of others.

In the end, Ansor’s actions have cost him dearly. With a 60-month prison sentence, he’ll be spending a significant amount of time behind bars, away from the community he sought to harm.
