Dedrick Brown, Threatening a Federal Employee, Indiana 2025

Dedrick Brown, 32, of Indianapolis, Indiana, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for threatening a federal employee.

According to court documents, on March 25, 2025, Brown appeared at a supervised release revocation hearing in the Southern District of Indiana. During the hearing, Brown made several threats against his probation officer, including that he would shoot his probation officer and that he would ‘make it his job’ to find and kill him when he was released. Brown then attempted to spit on his probation officer.

U.S. Attorney Adam L. Mildred said, ‘Federal employees who take an oath to support and defend the Constitution should never have to fear that performing their jobs faithfully will provoke an attack.’

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with valuable assistance provided by the United States Marshals Service and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Steven J. Lupa and Thomas M. McGrath.
