Demaje Robinson-Potts, Methamphetamine Distribution, Illinois 2020

Urbana, Ill. – Demaje Robinson-Potts, a 23-year-old man from Danville, was caught in a massive methamphetamine and fentanyl distribution scheme with his brother, D’Vaughnte Robinson. The brothers were sentenced to 108 months in prison for their roles in the scheme.

According to the court documents, Robinson-Potts was convicted of distributing methamphetamine following a guilty plea on January 15, 2021. He was previously searched along with his brother in their shared residence on September 17, 2020, where investigators found a firearm.

U.S. District Court Judge Michael Mihm emphasized the seriousness of Robinson-Potts’s crime, stating that fentanyl is a ‘curse’ on the community and that methamphetamine poses significant danger to its users and the public.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Vermilion Metropolitan Enforcement Group, and the Vigo County Drug Task Force all assisted in the investigation and prosecution of Robinson-Potts.

Assistant United States Attorney Rachel Ritzer represented the government in the case. The brothers’ scheme was uncovered in 2020, and their sentences were handed down in a federal court.
