DeMarco Davis Jr, Aiding and Abetting Possession with Intent to Dis…

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — DeMarco Davis, Jr., 36, known on the streets as “Tipp,” has admitted to distributing heroin in Berkeley County, confirming his role in a 2017 drug deal that landed him in federal crosshairs.

Davis pled guilty to one count of “Aiding and Abetting Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin,” a charge that carries serious federal penalties. The transaction occurred in January 2017, when Davis facilitated the sale of the deadly opioid in a county already reeling from the overdose crisis.

The admission came during a federal hearing before U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble, who oversaw the proceedings. Davis, of Inwood, West Virginia, made no attempt to downplay his involvement, acknowledging his role in the heroin trade during a stark courtroom confession.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney C. Lydia Lehman, working in conjunction with the Berkeley County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, is leading the prosecution. The case reflects a coordinated effort between local and federal agencies to dismantle drug networks feeding addiction in rural communities.

Investigation was spearheaded by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force — a HIDTA-funded initiative — alongside the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. Their work peeled back layers of street-level dealing tied to Davis, culminating in the federal charge.

Davis now faces a mandatory minimum sentence, though exact penalties will be determined at a later sentencing hearing. The case remains active under federal jurisdiction, underscoring the government’s aggressive stance on opioid traffickers in Appalachia.
