A violent crime spree in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has come to an end with the sentencing of Deshawn Patrick, 19, of Tulsa, to 121 months in federal prison followed by 3 years of supervised release.
Patrick pleaded guilty on August 23, 2021 to two counts of robbery in Indian Country.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson, Patrick committed two robberies against a teenager and an elderly man, posing a serious danger to the public.
The first robbery occurred on September 6, 2020, when Patrick, armed with a firearm, demanded a minor victim exit their vehicle and took their phone, car keys, and vehicle.
The second robbery took place on October 18, 2020, when Patrick and a juvenile accomplice approached a 74-year-old victim inside their garage, pointing semi-automatic pistols at the victim to gain entry into the house. Patrick struck the elderly victim in the head with a pistol, knocking them unconscious.
The Tulsa Police Department and FBI conducted the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan H. Heatherman and Reagan V. Reininger prosecuted the case.
The victims of these robberies are Muscogee Nation citizens, and the crimes occurred within the Muscogee Nation Reservation.
Deshawn Patrick, 19, of Tulsa, was sentenced for two counts of robbery in Indian Country.
He pleaded guilty on August 23, 2021 and received a 121-month prison sentence followed by 3 years of supervised release.
