Fresno, CA – In a disturbing case of firearm possession, Desmond Lamar Divine, a 20-year-old parolee from Fresno, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the indictment, on November 8, 2021, Divine fled from law enforcement officers when they spoke with him. As he fled, a gun fell from his pocket. As a parolee with prior felony convictions, Divine is prohibited from possessing firearms.
The case is the result of an investigation by the Fresno Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Jean Berger is prosecuting the case.
