Destiny Marsh, Methamphetamine Possession, Iowa 2021

A 21-year-old Council Bluffs woman is headed to federal prison for her role in a large methamphetamine operation. Destiny Marsh was sentenced on April 19, 2021, to 50 months in prison for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

According to authorities, Marsh was found unresponsive in her motel room at the Deluxe Inn in Council Bluffs on March 3, 2020. The Council Bluffs Fire Department responded to the scene and discovered a large bag containing approximately 800 grams of methamphetamine and cash next to Marsh.

Marsh pleaded guilty to the offense on November 6, 2020, and was subsequently sentenced to serve 50 months in prison. She will also be required to serve five years of supervised release upon her release from prison and pay a $100 fine to the Crime Victims’ Fund.

The investigation into Marsh’s activities was conducted by the Southwest Iowa Narcotics Task Force and the Council Bluffs Police Department. The case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa.

Methamphetamine possession is a serious offense in the United States, and those found guilty of the crime can face severe penalties, including lengthy prison sentences.
