Grimy Times Exclusive: Devon Ray Gillispie, 33, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty to Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
The crime took place on January 31, 2022, when Gillispie knowingly possessed 42 rounds of ammunition that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce. This conviction was punishable by a term exceeding one year.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and the Sallisaw Police Department conducted an investigation that led to the charges against Gillispie.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan E. Soverly represented the United States in this case. Gillispie will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
The Honorable Jason A. Robertson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered a presentence investigation report.
