A shocking case of brazen daylight robbery has shaken the streets of Las Vegas. On July 16, 2025, Devonte Devon Jackson allegedly brandished a black handgun and stole approximately $327,620 from an armored truck outside of a bank.
According to eyewitnesses, the heist occurred in broad daylight, with no apparent witnesses. However, thanks to the swift action of Texas State Troopers, Jackson was arrested on July 29, 2025, in Centerville, Texas. He was extradited to Las Vegas to face federal charges related to the armed robbery.
Devonte Devon Jackson now faces one-count of interference with commerce by robbery and one-count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. If convicted, he faces a maximum statutory penalty of 20 years in prison for interference with commerce by robbery and a mandatory consecutive sentence of seven years for brandishing a firearm.
United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada and Acting Special Agent in Charge Jeremy Schwartz for the FBI Las Vegas Division made the announcement. Devonte Devon Jackson’s initial court appearance took place on Thursday, with United States Magistrate Judge Elayna J. Youchah scheduling a jury trial to begin on October 20, 2025.
