The elder Dillinger had labored daily on his farm, all the while following news of his son’s outlawry acts, as seen in the inset photograph. The offers to bask in the infamy of his son’s deeds poured in, but John Dillinger Sr. remained resolute in his disapproval of his son’s actions.
