BEAUMONT, Texas – In a shocking move, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales has announced the hiring of Matt Quinn as the lead prosecutor in the Beaumont office of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas.
Quinn, a native of Southeast Texas, brings a wealth of experience to the table, having previously served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Little Rock, Arkansas, where he was assigned to the gang unit and prosecuted numerous homicides and other violent crimes.

Quinn’s background is impressive, with a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in 2000 and a law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2003. His experience in the gang unit and major drug trafficking cases will serve him well in his new role, as he works to combat the scourge of crime in the Eastern District of Texas.
The Eastern District of Texas has a total of 51 federal prosecutors, with offices located in Beaumont, Lufkin, Tyler, Texarkana, Plano, and Sherman. With Quinn at the helm, the office is poised to make significant strides in the fight against crime, and the people of Texas can rest a little easier knowing that justice is within reach.
