A Richardson, Texas man has been sentenced to 300 months in federal prison for attempting to produce child pornography.
Donald Golden, 62, of Richardson, Texas, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater to 300 months in federal prison, following his guilty plea in July 2017 to one count of attempted production of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Erin Nealy Cox of the Northern District of Texas.
Golden has been in custody since the time of his arrest in March 2017.
According to the plea agreement factual resume filed in the case, on January 5, 2017, Golden sent a series of text messages and emails to a minor boy under 15 years of age, requesting that he produce sexual explicit images of himself and send the images to Golden via text messaging. The messages included the following: “So, are you going to send me some pics … I need to see what you look like naked … I want to see what you look like from the neck down, no face, naked pics, just body …”
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Shane Read was in charge of the prosecution.
