Tre Robert Goins, Drug Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2024

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Donora’s Tre Robert Goins, aged 30, has been slammed with a federal indictment for drug trafficking and unlawful firearm possession, according to United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan.

The grand jury accused Goins of being in possession of fentanyl and cocaine on May 24, 2024, intending to distribute the deadly substances. The charges escalate as Goins, a previously convicted felon, was also caught with a firearm, which he used to further his drug trafficking endeavors. Federal law strictly bans firearm or ammunition possession by felons.

Goins now faces a minimum sentence of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, along with a fine reaching $1 million. Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher is on the case, representing the government.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) spearheaded the investigation that led to Goins’ indictment. This case is under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in our communities.

Project Safe Neighborhoods was reinforced on May 26, 2021, with strategies focusing on community trust, preventing violence through support of local organizations, strategic enforcement, and thorough measurement of results.

Remember, an indictment is merely an accusation. Goins is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
