An Ohio resident has pleaded guilty to a charge of tax evasion in federal court, a move that has sparked a sense of outrage among taxpayers in the region.

Douglas A. Hagy, an Ohio resident, pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion before United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer in a federal court in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

According to information presented to the court, Hagy received approximately $982,000 in income between 2012 and 2016, which he failed to disclose on his federal income tax returns.

Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C. Melucci is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government, and the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Hagy.
