Duncan Sioux Witt, 29, Sentenced to 10 Years in Federal Prison

RAPID CITY – Grimy Times has learned that Duncan Sioux Witt, a former special education paraprofessional teacher’s aide at Douglas High School in Box Elder, South Dakota, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for enticement of a minor using the internet.

According to court documents, Witt was employed at Douglas High School when she began sending sexually explicit messages, images, and videos to a student receiving special education services at the school. The victim, who was a minor at the time, was induced by Witt to send her sexually explicit pictures and videos of himself, which she saved in her Snapchat account.

The investigation revealed that Witt had inappropriate conversations with multiple other students over Snapchat. Witt was arrested in South Carolina while working at an elementary school.

U.S. District Judge Camela C. Theeler sentenced Witt to 10 years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered her to pay $100 in special assessments to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. The sentencing took place on August 18, 2025.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Witt was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
