Bank Robberies Rock North Hills Community
Dylan Michael Poole, a 24-year-old man from McCandless, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to robbing three area banks and attempting to rob a fourth bank in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.
According to court documents, Poole robbed a WesBanco Bank in McCandless, Pennsylvania on or about November 8, 2018; a PNC Bank in Donegal, Pennsylvania on or about November 9, 2018; and a First National Bank in Wexford, Pennsylvania on or about November 13, 2018.
Additionally, on or about November 15, 2018, Poole attempted to rob a PNC Bank in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.
The defendant’s guilty plea was made before Chief United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak.
Pending sentencing, the court continued the defendant’s bond of $25,000.
Assistant United States Attorney Yvonne M. Saadi is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The FBI Pittsburgh’s Violent Crimes Task Force, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police, Northern Regional Police Department, Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, McCandless Police Department and Shaler Township Police Department conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Poole.
The law provides for a total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Chief Judge Hornak scheduled sentencing for July 20, 2022, at 9:30 AM.
