Eagle Butte Man Faces Assault Charges

United States Attorney Randolph J. Seiler announced a chilling turn of events in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, as Kevin Yellow Earring, age 26, faces federal charges for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.

Yellow Earring, who was indicted on March 15, 2017, showed up before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno the following day, entering a not guilty plea to the serious allegations against him.

The potential punishment for Yellow Earring is severe, carrying a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in custody and/or a $250,000 fine. Additionally, he could face up to 3 years of supervised release, a contribution of up to $300 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund, and an order for restitution.
