Eagle Butte Man Sentenced for Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child

A disturbing case of child abuse has come to an end in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, as 41-year-old Justin Robert LeBeau was sentenced to 42 months in custody for his heinous crimes.

According to officials, LeBeau knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a child under the age of 12 near Ridgeview between January 19, 1995, and January 18, 1996.

The case was investigated by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Division, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Mikal Hanson prosecuted the case.

LeBeau was indicted for Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child by a federal grand jury on September 17, 2013, and he pled guilty on March 24, 2014.

As a result of his conviction, LeBeau was sentenced to serve 42 months in custody, followed by 2 years of supervised release, and he was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

LeBeau was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service to begin serving his sentence.
