Michigan City Man Sentenced for Child Pornography
Earl Rauschenberg, a 46-year-old man from Michigan City, Indiana, has been sentenced to 180 months in prison for his role in the transportation of child pornography. Rauschenberg pleaded guilty to the charges in a case that was investigated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, with assistance from the Indiana State Police and the Michigan City Police Department.
The case against Rauschenberg began in July 2020, when he uploaded a video depicting child pornography to the internet. This was a disturbing revelation, especially considering that Rauschenberg had previously been convicted of possession of child pornography in 2019. His release from prison the following year only seemed to embolden him, leading to a dark and disturbing downward spiral.
Rauschenberg’s repeated involvement with child pornography has left a trail of destruction in its wake. His actions have caused irreparable harm to the victims and their families, and have contributed to the broader problem of child exploitation. The sentencing of Rauschenberg sends a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated.
The case against Rauschenberg was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys John M. Maciejczyk. The sentencing was carried out by United States District Court Judge Robert L. Miller, Jr. Rauschenberg will also be required to serve 7 years of supervised release after his prison sentence.
The investigation into Rauschenberg’s activities was a collaborative effort between multiple law enforcement agencies. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, worked closely with the Indiana State Police and the Michigan City Police Department to bring Rauschenberg to justice.
The sentencing of Earl Rauschenberg serves as a reminder of the importance of remaining vigilant in the fight against child exploitation. The Grimy Times will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
