Edward Ray Loretto, Sexual Abuse of a Minor, New Mexico 2021

A Pueblo of Jemez man was sentenced to prison for his role in the sexual abuse of a minor. On July 27, 2020, Edward Ray Loretto, 41, engaged in sexual intercourse with his girlfriend’s 15-year-old younger sister at her house on the Pueblo of Jemez.

According to a criminal complaint, Loretto and another individual provided alcohol to the victim prior to the sexual assault. Loretto, an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Jemez, pleaded guilty to the crime on August 12.

Loretto was sentenced on November 14 to three years and one month in prison for his crime. Upon his release from prison, he will be subject to five years of supervised release and must register as a sex offender.

The FBI Albuquerque Field Office and the Pueblo of Jemez Police Department investigated this case. The United States Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
