Eric Holder Announces DEA Administrator Michele Leonhart’s Retirement
Attorney General Eric Holder released a statement on the retirement of Drug Enforcement Administration Administrator Michele Leonhart, who will depart the agency in mid-May.
Holder expressed his appreciation for Leonhart’s leadership of the DEA since 2007, as well as her 35 years of extraordinary service to the DEA, to the Department of Justice, and to the American people.
Leonhart’s career has been marked by her trailblazing spirit, having been the first woman ever to reach the rank of Special Agent in Charge. She has devoted her life and professional career to the defense of the nation and the protection of its citizens.
