Eric Lynn Garman, Possession of Child Pornography, Oklahoma 2023

A Tahlequah man has been sentenced to 97 months in prison for his role in the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Eric Lynn Garman, age 35, was arrested in connection with an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) into the possession of certain material involving the sexual exploitation of minors.

The charges against Garman, which were brought under Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2252(a)(4)(B) and 2252(b)(2), allege that between August 14, 2017, and November 30, 2017, Garman knowingly possessed, attempted to possess, and accessed with the intent to view matters containing visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

The investigation, which was led by the FBI, involved the collection of evidence and the identification of individuals who were involved in the possession and distribution of child pornography.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the successful prosecution of Garman would not have been possible without the professional and thorough investigation conducted by the FBI.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing, during which Garman was sentenced to 97 months’ imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release.

The case is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of child pornography on its victims and the importance of holding those who engage in this activity accountable for their crimes.
