Eric Rundstrom, Child Sex Abuse Image Downloading, Connecticut 2019

A Wallingford man has been sentenced to five years in prison for downloading child sex abuse images from the internet.

Eric Rundstrom, 47, was sentenced to 60 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for downloading child sex abuse images from the internet.

Rundstrom was arrested on February 14, 2019, on a federal criminal complaint. He pleaded guilty to one count of receipt and possession of child pornography on March 4, 2020.

The FBI investigation revealed that Rundstrom had accessed an online website to connect with others interested in collecting and sharing images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. Investigators discovered a link to an online file hosting account associated with Rundstrom where hundreds of images and videos of child pornography had been stored, including images of adult males sexually abusing prepubescent females.

According to court documents and statements made in court, Rundstrom’s actions were a serious violation of federal law and posed a significant threat to the safety and well-being of children.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anastasia E. King. This prosecution is part of the U.S. government’s Project Safe Childhood Initiative, which is aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation.

Rundstrom is required to report to prison on December 7. He was released on a $25,000 bond.
