ERIE, Pa. – A brazen bank robbery shook the streets of Erie, Pennsylvania, on February 19, 2015, when $1,565 was stolen from the First National Bank located at 3310 West 26th Street.
The suspect, 31-year-old Eric S. Chadwick, has finally been brought to justice as he pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of bank robbery, United States Attorney David J. Hickton announced today.
On February 19, 2015, Chadwick and a co-defendant were involved in the robbery of the First National Bank. Chadwick, who is now facing the consequences of his actions, will be sentenced on March 13, 2017.
According to the court, Chadwick’s guilty plea could result in a total sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both. The Federal Sentencing Guidelines will ultimately determine the actual sentence imposed based on the seriousness of the offense and Chadwick’s prior criminal history.
Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold is handling the prosecution of this case on behalf of the government.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Millcreek Township Police Department conducted the investigation that led to Chadwick’s prosecution.
As Chadwick awaits sentencing, he has been released on bond pending the outcome of the trial.
