Former South Carolina Police Officers Face Sentencing for Unreasonable Force
COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA
Two former South Carolina police officers, Eric Walters and Franklin Brown, will face sentencing for using unreasonable force on a suspect. According to United States Attorney Bill Nettles, United States District Court Judge Bryan Harwell has set sentencing in the case of United States v. Eric Walters and Franklin Brown, Case No.: 14-258.
The sentencing is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 27, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the McMillan Federal Building, located at 401 West Evans Street, Courtroom 1, in Florence, South Carolina.
Walters and Brown were charged with using unreasonable force while in the scope of their duties as police officers. The exact nature of the incident has not been disclosed, but the charges against the former officers are serious and carry significant penalties.
