Baltimore Man Sentenced for Possession of Firearm and Ammunition

Baltimore, Maryland – Ethan King, 20, of Baltimore, Maryland, has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for possessing a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon.

According to court records, King, a previously convicted felon, was seen on surveillance video entering a Baltimore convenience store on February 7, 2024. While inside the store, King purchased a Glock 19 handgun equipped with an extended magazine and a machinegun conversion device from another individual.

Law enforcement later recovered the Glock 19 handgun from King’s residence on March 15. The firearm was equipped with an extended magazine loaded with 31 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a machinegun conversion device, also known as a ‘Glock switch,’ designed to convert a semi-automatic Glock-style pistol into a fully automatic firearm.

U.S. Attorney Kelly O. Hayes announced the sentence, commending the FBI, ATF, and Baltimore Police Department for their work in the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Tsuei prosecuted the case.

‘This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in our communities,’ said U.S. Attorney Hayes. ‘We will continue to work with law enforcement and the community to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.’
