Fed Up: Local Man Sentenced to 14 Years for Methamphetamine Trafficking

Paducah, KY – In a shocking move, 34-year-old Fabian Thomas of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Puryear, Tennessee, was slammed with a 14-year prison sentence, followed by 5 years of supervised release, for his role in methamphetamine trafficking.

Thomas’s crimes were committed in McCracken County, Kentucky, and were investigated by the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and the DEA Paducah Post of Duty. Assistant U.S. Attorney Seth Hancock, Chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Paducah Branch Office, prosecuted the case.

According to court documents, on April 4 and April 22, 2022, Thomas distributed more than 5 grams of methamphetamine in McCracken County. On April 21, 2022, Thomas possessed with the intent to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine on two separate occasions.

Thomas’s sentence was announced by U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett of the Western District of Kentucky, Acting Special Agent in Charge Erek G. Davodowich of the DEA Louisville Field Division, Sheriff Ryan Norman of the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, and Sheriff Matt Hillbrecht of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

No parole is available in the federal system, and Thomas will serve every day of his sentence.

Thomas’s case highlights the ongoing struggle with methamphetamine trafficking in western Kentucky. Law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to combat this issue and bring those responsible to justice.
